Have anybody test SSM cable cable with the ktag clone for PCR2.1?
Yep. Work good with KTAG original and HQ clone. SSM tested more times, works perfectly. Read and write in BSL on table without unlock after read password with SSM cable.

On a side note, ksuite tools (kess or ktag) seem to
be more stable than fgtech on pcr but work too

On ksuite tools , you can’t read or write with ktag , only unlock . (alientech need to work on it…)
with kess it’s ok , BUT , you can’t use the tricore module !
The trick to get communication error free on both fgtech and kess cable is to use a strong external psu .
good psu and obd home made bench cable , remove tricore module on kess v2 = 100% tested bench flashing solution for pcr2.1 .

BMW ICOM A2 diagnostic interface failed to be connected, because the firmware is too old and need to upgrade it.

Firstly, you need to learn how to check BMW ICOM firmware need update.
update the firmware of BMW ICOM Interface. You have no need to update it if it says FREE.
Please read the above photo. It shows FIRMWARE in red frame, that mean you need to
Secondly, update the firmware of BMW ICOM Diagnostic tool step by step.
1.Power on your icom interface by OBD cable, and connect it to computer by LAN cable. PLEASE make sure they are connected well because your interface might be damaged if disconnection during updating.
2.After connected, open the file ENGINEER TOOL on the desktop and you will see a file named ICOM FIRMWARE UPDATE. They are 2 BINs inside of it, ICOM-APPLICATIONIMAGE-XXX and ICOM-BOOTIMAGE-XXX. They are the files
3.Open your IE and input the IP address of your icom. If you do not know what is the IP of your icom, you can use ISTA-D to find it. As below, the IP in green frame is the IP of your ICOM. It needs ID and password to enter in, the ID is root,pw is NZY11502.
  1. After entering into ICOM by IE.Click UPDATE FIRMWARE and choose ICOM-BootImage-XXX.bin,choose Image type as SYSTEM and click SEND THE FILE. Click YES when he say Write the image file to the flash? You will see the red right blinks after that.
5.Now we click UPDATE FIRMWARE and choose ICOM-ApplicationImage-xxx.bin and then choose the Image type as APPLICATION and then click SEND THE FILE. Click YES when he says Write the image file to the flash?
6.Reboot your ICOM interface after you update those APPLICATIONIMAGE and Bootimage. And you need to wait for few minutes. Go to ISTA-D again, you will see the FRIMWARE turn to FREE. That means your interface is matched to latest BMW ICOM ISTA software.

    Review 1: Autel TS601 Reprogram the TMPS on 2016 WRX model perfectly
    How to ......
    When you get Autel TS601, you have to run a software update. Basically, you need to be minimally computer savvy to create an Autel account and plug the USB wire (taking off the protective rubber cover) to your computer. If you have a average PC, it will work fine. I had to update the tool because off the shelf, it will not support my 2016 WRX model. After the update, it work great.

    You are probably looking into this tool because you got a new set of wheels (in my case, it was winter set) and the TMPS light was on with the new set of sensors. The device is very simple to use. Basically, you get/activate the sensors in the order of the screen picture. After you catch all 4 wheels, you will then plug the odb2 cable into the car. You will hit an option to load that information on your car's computer. After it is completed, you drive the car for like 5 mins and the annoying light will go away. That's what I used it for... It works and hence, it gets a 5 star because my OTC touch or my other computer tools will not connect with this car to reprogram the TMPS...

    Review 2: 2012 Hyundai TPMS reprogramming: Wins other tools
    This will do everything you need for TPMS. I bought this for my shop after a sensor replacement on a 2012 Hyundai could not be programmed with our current equipment (some newer vehicles need this tool to actually write the sensor ID onto the module). TS601 does it all including direct communication and programming to the TPMS module!!! I still have not seen a better product on the market. Easy to use and every Autel product I have bought so far has been easily updated for free and easy to use.

    Review 3: 2011 Cadillac CTS
    Works better than expected! Updating the program worked the first time and it worked on my 2011 Cadillac CTS without any problems! I look forward to using it for a long time to come!

    Review 4: 2010 Honda Fit
    I have used this product on my 2010 Honda Fit. It was perfect for reading the sensors and figuring out which sensor needed to be replaced on the car. The Autel TS601 worked right out of the box, not update needed for it to work on my vehicle. I would recommend reading the manual before you use the product as you can get lost in the menus a little bit. I plan on using it on a KIA in about a week and I hope it works on that vehicle as well. I will update when that happens.

    Review 5: I love Autel TS601 because......
    Moved back into snow country about a year and half ago, and knew I needed an additional set of winter wheels and tires for our cars. I enjoy the peace of mind of TPMS, and driving around all winter with a tire sensor warning and no pressure readout was not acceptable.

    Bottom line: 4.5 stars if www.obd2eshop.com would let me. Very powerful tool that works perfectly if you know what you're doing.

    However, the quality of the tool, casing and accessories is very good. It takes a bit of tech and automotive savvy to figure out, but it does what it's supposed to extremely well.

    The printed instruction manual is really, really bad, written both for an older version of the firmware and clearly translated with varying success from another language.

    Review 6: comprehensive
    Autel MaxiTPMS TS601 can be used as both the Tire Pressure Sensor tool but also the OBD reader. It does not just read the codes but also can display the data live. I found the live tracking of OBD data to be quite useful in diagnosing problems. It did take me longer than I expected to figure out the update system, but now it is current with the latest vehicles out there. I was surprised to see such a comprehensive list. I would buy it again if I needed more than one.

Here are some advice and suggestion for your VCMII IDS tool ,when you meet issues like these below: V100 VCM2 for Ford Diagnostic Tool with WIFI Wireless Card Best Quality OBDexpress - try with V86 versión, when I plug in the USB give me this error "unknown USB device"... - download VMWare V93 from this fórums it is on Russian and I can't change the language... - try to install V92 like I saw on cardcodereaders through Youtube... But even I put 31/10/2014 it says "no valid license" note: I have format several times and tried with W7 Ultimate, W7 starter, W7 Pro... and always the same. Never works even if I always have in the BIOS the same date: October 31th of 2014 I cant install a XP because I have no drivers for it. Advice & Suggestion: IDS saves information to the master boot record of the hard drive, just reinstalling windows won't fix it. Either purchase a genuine license or you have to delete the hard drive partitions to rebuild the MBR and then reinstall windows. It is much easier to acquire VMWare Workstation 10 / 11 to install a copy of Windows 7 that you will use solely for IDS as you can make backup copies in case you goof up something. What date you use is irrelevant as long as you continue to use the same date. Start with IDS version 91 -> upgrade to 94 (Use the VCM II firmware from this version) -> upgrade to 96 (now the newest IDS is version 109). You can start with an older IDS version if you want the old calibration catalogs, using this method will require you to download any calibration files you need if you plan to do any module programming. Additionally, if you don't purchase a valid license and are using a trial your IDS cannot acquire these files automatically over the internet. Maybe you could have a try with IDS software from Chinese. They help IDS without expiration and no license issues. Here is tutorial of step-by-step how to install Mangoose Pro GM II Cable and how to use.

Note: here we’re talking about Mongoose Pro GM 2 china clone (also name Mangoose)

Here we go:
How to install Mangoose Pro GM 2 software:
  1. Install VMware-player-6.0.6-2700073.exe
  1. copy “GM Ⅱ” to harddisk.
  2. open “XP_EN” with VMware Playermongoose-gm-install-22
How to install GDS2 Tech2Win for Mongoose Pro GM 2:

Here are my photos!

Step 1, open Tech2Win, use the default image.

Step 2, open GlobalTIS for Opel v32 and select security access. Get security access. Tech2Win license will refresh and it will unlock Tech2Win so it will communicate with the car. Close Tech2Win.

Step 3, plug in the Mongoose Pro II GM and plug the other end into the car.

Step 4, open Tech2Win. Select the Saab BIN that you set up (do this on your own)

Step 5, Tech2Win prompts you to use the Mongoose, so, use the Mongoose.

Step 6, you will see the Saab 9.250 NAO splash screen. Notice the license expiration says <1 instead of 0, and you will not see any “circle with a line through it” through the Tech2 picture, the MDI picture, etc, because Tech2Win is unlocked.

Step 7, get some security access

Step 8, wait for Tech2Win to do its thing, and give you the prompt:

Step 9, use TIS2000 to get security access. Turn “off” Tech2Win using the power button in the GUI, which basically resets the software. Fire up TIS2000 and select Get Security Access. Note, you may have to adjust the baud on the serial connection, I had to drop mine a bit before things played nicely. Also, unplug the Mongoose while you are doing all this nonsense.

Step 10, BOOM you got yourself some security access. If you got this far, celebrate!
Step 11, plug the Mongoose cable back in, hit the power button and restart Tech2Win. You are good to go, you have full security access. Feel free to do whatever you want! Here is me jacking around with some of the diagnostics. I used this same software to re-program the BCM on my 2008 9-3 CV. It works.

Step 12, SPS! Close out all this crap and open GlobalTIS for Saab. Open SPS. Plug in Mongoose. Basically, it just works. It will show up in the list as an available adapter. Follow the directions. Here are some pictures of me updating the ECU for my 2007 9-3 2.0T to eliminate the idle dip problem I occasionally experienced.

Most of what I wrote omits some tips and tricks but was designed to show, yes, this tool works, its compatible 100% with 2003+ 9-3SS for sure, and I love it. I don’t know how I put up with the Chinese junk. No more time bombs. Plus this setup works for my 2007 Yukon XL Denali. If I buy a car with the Global A electrical platform, the Mongoose is certified to work with GDSII also! So it’s pretty much future proofed.
